Jean M. Sedlak
Jean M. Sedlak, an attorney with significant experience advocating for the rights of consumers and employees harmed by corporate wrongdoing, is an Associate of Boucher LLP. Throughout her legal career, Sedlak has represented people harmed by wage theft, employment discrimination and harassment, unfair, deceptive, and fraudulent business practices, defective products, and substandard nursing home care. She prosecutes class and representative actions in federal and state courts.
Sedlak has helped bring to resolution numerous cases throughout her legal career. She has helped to recover millions on behalf of workers who were victims of wage theft. Sedlak also helped to obtain a settlement on behalf of current and former residents of a New York nursing home that provided the largest per capita payout of any nursing home class action in New York, as well as substantial injunctive relief to make the home safe. She has also helped to recover millions on behalf of consumers who were victims of unfair, deceptive, and fraudulent business practices.
Sedlak obtained her Juris Doctor degree from UCLA School of Law. While in law school, Sedlak served as the Financial Director of El Centro Legal and volunteered in El Centro Legal’s Juvenile Hall Clinic. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Finance from Chapman University.
Sedlak is admitted to the State Bar of California, the State Bar of New York, and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Central Districts of California, and for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.
In her spare time, Sedlak has trained for years in martial arts. She has competed in multiple tournaments, including several in which she was awarded first place in sparring.
