Arin R. Scapa

Arin R. Scapa is an Associate of Boucher LLP.  She represents survivors of childhood sexual abuse by individuals who took advantage of positions of power and trust, and the institutions that failed to protect them. Arin has developed a trauma-informed approach to representing sexual abuse survivors.

Arin has exclusively represented plaintiffs since she began litigating personal injury cases in 2019.  Since then, a significant portion of Arin’s practice has been dedicated to advocating for survivors of childhood sexual assault. Arin also has experience prosecuting civil cases involving catastrophic personal injuries and wrongful death, mass torts, and health insurance bad faith.

In 2023, Arin received the Best Lawyers “Ones to Watch” award.

Prior to her work prosecuting personal injury cases, Arin worked in criminal law for the United States Attorney’s Office in the Major Frauds Section.  She also worked in workers’ compensation insurance defense for The Hartford and for a private law firm. The variety of Arin’s professional experience has made her a well-rounded and skilled litigator, capable of handling a variety of complex legal issues.

Arin has served on the Women Lawyers Association of Los Angeles (WLALA) Board of Governors and Foundation Board, as well as on the Los Angeles County Bar Association (LACBA) Litigation Section Executive Committee.  She has also been a member of state and national consumer law organizations.

Arin obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Social Behavior from the University of California Irvine, and her Juris Doctor degree, while working or interning at times, from the University of La Verne College of Law, where she was on the Dean’s list, received three CALI awards for achieving the highest grade in the class, and was recognized for her pro bono publico service at graduation.

Arin became a member of the State Bar of California in 2012 and is admitted to the United States District Court for the Central, Northern and Southern Districts of California.
