Derrick L. Luster, II
Derrick Luster is an Associate of Boucher LLP. Derrick’s litigation practice is focused on representing individuals in complex civil litigation, including class actions, coordinated proceedings, and mass tort litigation in both state and federal courts.
Derrick graduated from Elon University in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, having minored in Sociology and African & African-American studies. At Elon, Derrick was recognized for his research as an Elon College Fellow, and for his leadership in public service as a Harry S. Truman Scholarship finalist.
Derrick is a member of the State Bar of California. He obtained his Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law in 2023, having earned specializations in Critical Race Studies and Public Interest Law & Policy. During law school, Derrick interned with the Equal Justice Society, worked as a Summer Associate at a boutique civil rights firm in New York City, and served as a Civil Rights Fellow for a private practice in Koreatown, within Los Angeles, representing victims of racial discrimination and police misconduct.
In his spare time, Derrick enjoys visiting and camping in national parks, watching documentaries, exercising, playing with his dog, and trying out new recipes.
